According to local news reports, Rich Products Corp. will close its Fridley, Minn., processing facility — a plant the company acquired four years ago from TreeHouse Foods.

The closure will affect nearly 200 workers, with layoffs beginning for approximately 170 of them on Sept. 13, 2024. The plant is slated to shut down operations entirely by the end of this calendar year.

Rich’s told the local news outlet that the company was making the move to improve its operations efficiency, and that it would provide severance, career assistance and job resources to employees impacted by the shutdown.

Rich Products Corp. will continue to operate facilities in Motley and Eagan, Minn., the company also said.

The Fridley facility came over to Rich’s in February 2020 along with a Lodi, Calif., processing plant from TreeHouse Foods, at which time the company also acquired Rizzuto Foods and Morey’s Seafood.
