Hearthside Food Solutions to Close Anaheim, California, Processing Plant

175 employees will be laid off when the contract manufacturer’s Anaheim facility shuts its doors on April 27.

Downers Grove, Ill.-based Hearthside Food Solutions will close its Anaheim, Calif., processing plant permanently, effective Apr. 27, 2025, according to a local news report citing a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice (WARN) Act filing with the state of California.

Employees were notified at the end of February that the co-manufacturing plant would shut down “due to necessary operational changes,” the report said. The closure of the leased, approximately 107,000-sq.-ft. facility would result in the layoff of 175 employees.

This is the latest news in what has been a rough 12 months for the manufacturer of bars and baked products. The company filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2024 and was expecting to emerge in the first quarter of this year (though no update had been given at presstime). Earlier in the year, Hearthside closed its Nashville, Tenn., facility (in May 2024) and sold its Jacksonville, Fla., plant to Custom Made Meals (in April 2024).
