Post Holdings has announced plans to build a new plant in central Ohio dedicated mainly to producing protein drinks.
The plant in West Jefferson, near Columbus, will be 215,000 sq. ft. and will create some 200 jobs, according to a company announcement. The cost is estimated at $86 million. The opening is projected for 2023.
The facility will be managed by Michael Foods, a wholly owned subsidiary of Post Holdings. The facility will produce protein drinks for BellRing Brands, which owns the Premier Protein brand.
“We are excited to begin construction on our West Jefferson property,” said Steve Schonhoff, senior vice president of integrated supply chain for Michael Foods. “The location is a terrific addition to our supply chain.”
