Anheuser-Busch has bought Hoop Tea, a marketer of tea-infused seltzers and malt beverages based in Ocean City, Md.
Hoop Tea’s product portfolio comprises “spiked teas” in flavors including White Mango, Watermelon Mint, Pineapple Passionfruit and Peach Tea Lemonade, and “Hoop Tea Aire” seltzers flavored as Goji Berry Green Tea, Orange Hibiscus and Kiwi Berry. These products will join Bud Light Seltzer as well as Anheuser-Busch’s Beyond Beer portfolio of products, which include Cutwater Spirits, Babe Wine and more.
Founder and president Danny Robinson will remain with Anheuser-Busch to lead Hoop Tea, as will vice president Billy Gillman. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Hoop Tea’s roots were planted in a laid-back beach town, and we’ve relentlessly strived to build and develop our brand over the past several years,” Robinson said in a statement. “Working with the team at A-B is like hanging out with old friends and we’re excited to do some really cool things together.”
