AB InBev is promoting Brendan Whitworth to CEO of Anheuser-Busch, heading up the beverage giant’s North American operations.
Whitworth, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the CIA, had been chief U.S. sales officer. He will replace Michel Doukeris, who is stepping up to become global CEO of AB InBev. The promotions become effective July 1.
The company listed Whitworth’s achievements in his current position, including: Improving U.S. top-line revenue trend by 2.8 percentage points from 2017 to 2020; adding more than $1 billion in revenue from products other than beer; leading the implementation of Anheuser-Busch’s e-commerce platforms; and strengthening relationships with wholesalers and retail business partners.
“Our improved performance and overall momentum are a direct result of the hard work, diligence and passion of our more than 22,000 employees in North America that I’m proud to call my colleagues,” Whitworth said. “It is my privilege to lead this exceptional team as together we embark on this next phase of growth and success.”
