E&J Gallo Winery has announced plans to build a production facility and warehouse center in Chester County, S.C.
The $423 million facility will provide bottling and canning capacity for Gallo’s line of wine and other alcoholic beverages. The location will enable Gallo to better service the East Coast, plus use the nearby Port of Charleston for shipping. The project will being nearly 500 jobs to the region over the next eight years.
“We could not be more appreciative of the collaboration and support shown by the state of South Carolina, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and those in Chester County along with all of the public and private entities who have embraced this project throughout the planning process and have welcomed us to the community,” CEO Ernest Gallo said in a statement.
Construction is set to begin soon, with the first phase of the project scheduled for completion in October 2022.
