Jones Soda Co. has appointed a CPG veteran executive to be its new president.
Mark Murray was given the post at the craft soda marketer effective Sept. 1. Murray most recently had been president of JGC Foods, a holding company that specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of branded and co-packaged soups, sauces and entrees. He helped JGC nearly triple its sales and guided it to a successful acquisition by a private equity firm. He also has worked for Harry’s Fresh Foods, Campbell Soup and Kraft Heinz.
Jones appointed an interim CEO, Jamie Colbourne, in April. Colbourne, who also came from JGC Foods, has been appointed to Jones’s board of directors.
“Having worked with Jones closely over the past several months, it is clear the company has made progress resetting the business and identifying its unique areas of strength,” Murray said in a statement. “It is a pivotal time for the company as we look to capitalize on the notable marketing campaigns implemented a few months ago, and I firmly believe there is ample room for growth.”
