Molson Coors Acquires U.S. Commercialization Rights for Fever-Tree Mixers
Molson Coors Beverage Co. has entered into a new strategic partnership with Fevertree Drinks plc, which will expand its non-alcoholic portfolio in the U.S. via inclusion of the Fever-Tree brand of carbonated drinks and mixers.
In addition to acquiring an 8.5% stake in Fevertree Drinks plc (making it the second largest shareholder), Molson Coors assumes exclusive commercialization rights to Fever-Tree’s lineup of tonics, ginger beers, cocktail mixers and other products in the U.S. It will co-manufacture, market, sell and distribute the brand in the U.S., contributing a significant step toward Molson Coors’ goal of building a total-beverage portfolio across alcohol and non-alcohol occasions.
“We’ve made progress here, and today we are building on that progress in a significant way with Fever-Tree as the latest and largest non-alc brand to join our portfolio,” Gavin Hattersley, CEO of Molson Coors, said in the release. “Our customers have been asking for a brand just like Fever-Tree from us, and by leveraging the scale, strong relationships and expertise of our team at Molson Coors, I’m confident in the road ahead for Fever-Tree as part of Molson Coors’ growing set of non-alc offerings in the U.S.”
Fever-Tree just celebrated 20 years in business, having been established in the UK in 2004, and it has received numerous awards for its mixers over the years. Molson Coors sees the brand as a perfect fit in the non-alcoholic beverage portfolio, complimenting the company’s “Beyond Beer” and premiumization strategies. It’s the latest move to advance these strategies, following the company taking a majority stake in Zoa Energy in November 2024.
