Two Rescued After Falling in Mars Chocolate Tank

June 10, 2022
There were conflicting reports about injuries from Elizabethtown, Pa., but they don’t sound serious.

Two people were rescued after falling into a tank of chocolate at the Mars Wrigley factory in Elizabethtown, Pa., yesterday afternoon (June 9). There were conflicting reports about injuries, some saying the two were fine but other reports saying they were taken to a hospital, one via an ambulance and the other in a helicopter. Either way, any injuries did not sound serious.

There was no explanation how they fell into the tank, where the chocolate reportedly was waist high. But rather than pull them out from above, Elizabethtown emergency crews cut a hole in the side of the tank.

The plant apparently makes a number of Mars chocolate products, including M&Ms.
