COVID-19 may have caused a confectionery dent in Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations in 2020, but Just Born just announced it won't be impacting Easter. That's because Peeps are coming off a nine-month hiatus and should be on store shelves for Easter 2021
The non-chocolate marshmallow treats, which appeared around the majority holidays, had been sidelined for most of 2020. Last year the company temporarily suspended production of its candy brands to ensure the health and safety of its associates due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Pennsylvania-based company opted to forgo production of its seasonal candies for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day so that it could focus on its Easter Peeps production.
"Peeps is back and better than ever! We're thrilled to be returning this Spring to fulfill special Easter traditions, no matter how you plan on celebrating this year," said Caitlin Servian, Brand Manager for Peeps.
