American Licorice Co. Buys Torie and Howard

American Licorice Co., LaPorte, Ind., acquired the Torie & Howard brand of "health friendly and socially conscious treats." Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candy and Chewie Fruities Organic Candy Chews are USDA Organic and Kosher certified, allergen friendly, Non-GMO, vegan, and gluten free.

Torie Burke, one of the founders, joined American Licorice to continue developing the Torie & Howard brand. The other founder in 2012 was Howard Slatkin.

American Licorice makes Red Vines and Sour Punch products and has investments in Theo Chocolate and Mindful Nourishment.
