Hershey Co. will invest $135 million to increase capacity at its Stuarts Draft, Va., facility, adding 90,000 sq. ft. and 110 new jobs.
That comes on top of $104 million spent on the plant in 2019, which added 65 jobs and 111,000 sq. ft., including a new building for peanut roasting.
While the new project will generally increase size and capacity, the 2019 expansion included a new line for Reese's products to be made at the plant, which already was specializing in peanut-containing confections. Reese’s has become the company's biggest brand and continues to grow.
