Andy Hanacek joined Production Pulse to talk treats rather than tricks.

Hundreds of thousands of trick-or-treaters hit the streets across the U.S. on Halloween in search of one thing and one thing only: candy.

In honor of the sweetest of holidays, Food Processing's senior editor, Andy Hanacek, joined Robert Schoenberger, group editorial director for IndustryWeek, on a special episode of that brand's Production Pulse live program on Halloween. Rather than tricks, Hanacek and fellow guest Linda Becker, editor-in-chief of Automatic Merchandiser and Vending Market Watch, discussed editorial treats, from candy trends to generational consumer differences, and the future of candy and chocolate.

And, much like the "100 Grand" candy bars he references, Hanacek simply couldn't resist waxing nostalgic about the candy and snack industries' long history in his hometown of Chicago.
