Turkish Candy Maker Kervan USA to Build Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, Plant

July 2, 2025
The $20-million, 90,000-sq.-ft. facility will operate initially as a packaging and distribution facility for candies imported from Turkey, Poland and Egypt, with manufacturing operations to follow within a few years.

Kervan USA, a Turkish candy company, will build a new, $20 million processing and packaging facility in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, not far from its current U.S. headquarters in Whitehall Township, according to a release shared with Food Processing by Lehigh Valley Economic Development. The company broke ground on the project July 2, 2025.

The producer of gummy, licorice and marshmallow candies currently operates packaging and distribution locations in New Jersey, but those will be consolidated into the new, 90,000-sq.-ft. Pennsylvania facility once it is opened next year. Kervan USA plans to hire about 40 new employees to run the facility, which is under construction in Lower Nazareth and Bethlehem townships.

Kervan executives noted that the Lehigh Valley area was “booming,” and that the cost of building a facility there was more attractive than building in where it currently operates in New Jersey. Kervan USA joins a large roster of food and beverage companies operating in the Lehigh Valley.

Kervan makes more than 200 candy varieties under the Bebeto and Yumy Yumy brands at facilities in Turkey, Poland and Egypt. It also makes branded candy, including items for the Crayola brand, which is local to the Lehigh Valley. The first phase of the Lehigh Valley project involves import of those candy products to the new facility for packaging and distribution, and the manufacturing portion of the plant anticipated to be operational with a few years, the release noted.
