General Mills plans a $100 million expansion of its Totino pizza roll factory in Wellston, Ohio.
The expansion will add about 30 jobs to the plant’s payroll, bringing total employment to more than 1,000 full-time employees. The project is being supported by a tax credit and a $400,000 grant from JobsOhio, a private nonprofit economic development corporation.
“The expansion of the Totino’s facility in Wellston and the addition of 30 new jobs for hardworking Ohioans demonstrates the ongoing success that global companies can establish in Ohio,” J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio, said in a statement.
Totino’s, a line of frozen pizzas and pizza rolls, is one of General Mills’ most popular products, showing double-digit sales growth over the past year. Problems in sourcing ingredients led to interruptions in production last winter.
