Freshpet Names New Chief Operating Officer

Sept. 3, 2024
Nicki Baty will join Freshpet after nearly 20 years in various leadership roles with Colgate-Palmolive’s Hill’s Pet Nutrition business.

Freshpet Inc. has introduced Nicki Baty as its new chief operating officer, effective Sept. 1, 2024. Baty joins Freshpet from Colgate-Palmolive, where she most recently was president and general manager of Hill’s Pet Nutrition U.S., a role she had held since 2020. Prior to that, she had been senior vice president of global sales & general manager of Latin America and Asia for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, among other leadership roles at the company.

Baty had spent nearly 20 years at Colgate-Palmolive and has driven transformative growth initiatives and led businesses across multiple international markets, the Freshpet announcement noted. She also spent five years at Unilever in the UK prior to her time with Colgate-Palmolive.

Baty will report directly to Freshpet CEO Billy Cyr. Until May 10, 2025, her commercial responsibilities will be limited to the mass, grocery and club channels — after that date, her responsibilities will be consistent with her COO role, the company said.
