New Chief Financial Officer Appointed by J&J Snack Foods

Nov. 21, 2024
Former Calavo Growers and Tyson Foods finance executive Shawn Munsell will take over for the retiring Ken Plunk.

Shawn Munsell will become chief financial officer of J&J Snack Foods Corp., effective Dec. 2, 2024, according to a release from the snack foods and frozen beverage processor. Munsell will take the reins from Ken Plunk, who is retiring and will stay on until the end of the year to transition the role to Munsell.

Munsell brings more than 15 years of finance and operating leadership experience with publicly listed food and agriculture companies. He most recently served as CFO for avocado and prepared foods company Calavo Growers, where he restructured the finance organization, implemented new financial systems and processes, and led initiatives such as the strategic divestiture of a non-core division.

Previously, Munsell served as senior vice president of Finance and Accounting (Division CFO) for Tyson Foods’ poultry division, as well as vice president and treasurer for Tyson Foods overall. He started his career working in several finance roles for CF Industries.
