PepsiCo to Take Delivery of Tesla Semi Trucks on December 1

Oct. 10, 2022
It was confirmed on October 7 that PepsiCo would become the first company to receive Tesla's Electronic Vehicle Semi Trucks.

PepsiCo confirmed on October 7 it will take delivery of Tesla Semi trucks on December 1, thus making it the first company to receive its orders of the electric vehicle.

The December 1 delivery date is nearly three years behind schedule. Tesla founder Elon Musk unveiled the prototype of battery-powered Semi in 2017 and anticipated the Class 8 truck would go into production by 2019. Reuters reports PepsiCo reserved 100 of Tesla's semi electric trucks in 2017.

PepsiCo announced the fleet of EV Semi trucks would be used in two California plants, both the Modesto, Calif. Frito-Lay plant and the Sacramento PepsiCo beverages plant.
