With Greek-style yogurt doubling in sales in the past five years, Kraft Foods is excited to rollout Athenos Greek Yogurt.

Yogurt is one of the fastest growing food categories in America, and the latest star is Greek-style yogurt, which has doubled in sales yearly for the past five years. Right on trend, Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., rolls out Athenos Greek Yogurt, a mighty competitor to the Chobani and Fage brands on the market.

Whether used as a healthy and delicious substitute for sour cream and mayonnaise, or consumed during breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, Athenos Greek Yogurt can conveniently fit into your everyday food routine. It can be consumed as a snack, mixed into a smoothie, used in cooking and more. A rich and creamy, authentic Greek yogurt, strained the authentic way and made from milk from cows not treated with the growth hormone rbST, Athenos is the only brand that offers a dual-compartment, nonfat product – yogurt in one section and fruit or honey on the side. By keeping the fruit or honey separated, Athenos Greek Yogurt stays fresher and is easy to customize flavor to suit individual tastes.

Available in five varieties -- Plain, Honey, Strawberry, Peach and Blueberry, Athenos Greek Yogurt is a nutritious, healthy food with 0g of fat and twice the amount of protein of regular yogurt. The fruit topping varieties have100 calories and all of the flavor varieties pack 11g of protein per 5.3-oz. serving. Additionally, an 8-oz. serving provides 30 percent of the RDV of calcium.

“Adding a Greek yogurt to the Athenos family is an exciting next step for the brand,” says Athenos brand manager Marshall Hyzdu. “When we asked our 85,000 Facebook fans if they would like to see a Greek yogurt product from Athenos, the positive response was overwhelming. We can’t wait for people to taste what we think will be the most authentic and delicious Greek yogurt on the market.”

Suggested retail price for snack-size containers is $1.50, while 1-lb. containers of plain yogurt is $3.99.
