Popchips Inc. Introduces a New Crop of Veggie Chips
After bringing the magic of popping to potato, tortilla and corn, Popchips Inc. introduces a new crop of veggie chips. Never fried nor even baked, Veggie Popchips start with a base of dried potato and chickpea powder to which a blend of beet, bell pepper, kale, navy bean, pumpkin, spinach and tomato is added, for a total of nine vegetables. In addition, pea fiber is added to boost the dietary fiber content, while red beet juice powder and annatto are used for coloring.
All Popchips are popped the same way, using heat and pressure without oil; however, there is oil in the batter. The veggie Popchips are topped with zesty seasonings for three varieties: Hint of Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Tuscan Herb.
Like the other Popchips, the new veggie chips have nothing artificial and no trans-fatty acids. They are kosher, vegan and gluten free, with less than half the fat of fried chips. Popchips veggie chips come in 3-oz. sharing bags. A 1-oz. serving contains 120 calories, 3.5g of fat, 3g of protein and 3g of fiber.
