Tyson Foods' Ball Park brand has reinvented jerky with the introduction of Ball Park Flame Grilled Jerky.

Ball Park, a brand of Tyson Foods Inc., has reinvented jerky with the introduction of Ball Park Flame Grilled Jerky. Research shows that taste and texture are the primary barriers for why consumers don’t purchase jerky, according to the company. Ball Park brand “chewed” on consumers’ needs for an equally tough and tender jerky and designed this all new jerky experience. Dried for toughness, then flame grilled for a uniquely tender texture, Ball Park brand delivers superior off-the-grill taste and quality. The gluten-free jerky is made from lean cuts of beef or pork with no artificial flavors or colors nor added monosodium glutamate.

There are five varieties, all of which are either good or excellent sources of protein and contain about half the sodium of regular beef jerky. Three are beef — Bourbon, Original and Peppered — and two are pork: Barbecue and Teriyaki. The jerky comes in 2.85-oz. resealable pouches.

The company also recently introduced handheld Tyson Chicken Sandwiches for the convenience store channel. Wrapped in butcher paper for a premium, homemade look, the sandwiches come in either Homestyle or Spicy varieties. They can be eaten cold or warmed in the microwave.
