Buitoni Introduces A Line Of Vegetable-Infused Ravioli
From the chef innovators at its Casa Buitoni culinary center in Italy's Tuscany region, Nestlé USA's Buitoni brand introduces a line of vegetable-infused ravioli. While colorful pasta has been around for years, Buitoni is the first national brand to use pieces of real vegetables to add color, flavor and nutrition to its pasta.
The Spinach & Artichoke Ravioli pasta contains spinach and is stuffed with a blend of spinach, artichoke hearts and ricotta and Parmesan cheeses. The dough used to make the Sweet Bell Pepper & Chicken Ravioli contains puréed sweet red pepper. These ravioli are filled with a mixture of roasted red and yellow peppers, tender seasoned chicken and a savory combination of Parmesan and Asiago cheeses. The Three Cheese & Asparagus Ravioli is spinach pasta filled with a blend of ricotta, Grana Padano and Parmesan cheeses, along with tender asparagus.
In addition to these vegetable-infused ravioli varieties, the brand offers a new Chicken & Roasted Garlic Tortelloni, which folds garlic into the dough. The pasta is filled with a blend of roasted chicken and a medley of Parmesan, ricotta and mozzarella chesses. All four pastas are merchandised in the refrigerated section at supermarkets and have a suggested retail price of $4.19 for the 9-oz. package and $7.29 for the family-size 18- and 20-oz. packages.
