Vintage Italia Launches Pasta Chips and Crackers
Once upon a time, at a small, authentic osteria in the hills of Tuscany, Jerry Bello, founder of Vintage Italia LLC, came up with the idea of Pasta Chips. This first-of-its-kind snack is crafted in an Italian artisan style using rich, authentic flavors reminiscent of the genuine pasta dishes found throughout the rustic Italian countryside.
Pasta Chips are made from 100 percent fresh durum wheat semolina, the same wheat used to create traditional Italian pasta, along with ancient grains and Italian herbs. The chips come in Alfredo, Garlic Olive Oil, Marinara, Mediterranean Sea Salt and Spicy Tomato Basil. The company also offers Veggie Pasta Chips, which start with the same pasta base and are infused with spinach, broccoli and kale.
The non-GMO Project Verified oven-baked chips are thin and crispy, making them suitable for dipping or topping. They contain only 120 calories per serving, which is less than most snack chips and crackers, according to the company. The chips come in 2-oz. single-serve bags and 5-oz. zipper-reclosable multi-serve packs, and retail for $1.79 and $4.49, respectively.
