The Consumer Brands Association has named an interim director and established a search committee to find a permanent one.
Stacy Papadopoulos, general counsel and senior vice president of operations, will serve as interim CEO beginning Aug. 5. Meantime, the organization has put together a search committee of six food and other CPG company executives to look for a permanent replacement for Geoff Freeman, who gave notice late last month that he was taking another position.
“Consumer Brands appreciates its supportive and dedicated board and the leaders who are committing their time and energy to finding the next CEO,” Papadopoulos said in a statement. “The capable team here will ensure the organization continues to deliver on the agenda and serves as the champion this industry deserves.”
The search committee will be headed by Billy Cyr, CEO of Freshpet. The other members are: Jeff Harmening, chairman and CEO, General Mills (who also is chairman of the association); Wendy Davidson, president, Americas, Glanbia Performance Nutrition; Linda Rendle, CEO, The Clorox Co.; Monica Turner, president, North America, The Procter & Gamble Co.; and Steven Williams, CEO, PepsiCo Foods North America.
