Simmons Pet Food has hired the head of Tyson Foods’ operations to serve as its own VP of operations.
Derek Baucom, previously vice president of operations for Tyson, will take on that title with Simmons, effective immediately. His previous positions at Tyson include complex manager, live production manager and hatchery manager.
“At Simmons Pet Food, we are in the midst of a period of transformational growth,” company president Scott Salmon said in a statement. “I am confident Derek is the right person to enhance and support operational excellence as we continue to invest in new capacity and capabilities.”
