Hormel Foods has promoted two executives in response to the retirement of the chief of its international business.
Swen Neufeldt will take over as group VP and president of Hormel Foods International Corp., which markets Hormel products overseas. He is replacing Larry Vorpahl, who is retiring after 34 years with Hormel.
Neufeldt is vice president of meat products marketing for Hormel’s refrigerated foods division. That position will be filled by Lisa Selk, who is currently director of Hormel Health Labs and the company’s Century Foods International business.
“Swen brings a wealth of international and strategic business experience to the position, having served as general manager of our China business and president of Asia Pacific for many years,” Hormel CEO Jim Snee said in a statement. “His global perspective will be important as we continue to focus on accelerating growth outside of North America.”
Vorphal’s retirement and the related promotions will be effective this summer.
