Mondelēz International has named an information tech veteran of Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola as its new chief information officer.
Javier Polit will be responsible for the company’s global information technology solutions and will report directly to Luca Zaramella, executive vice president and chief financial officer. His Mondelēz job begins March 23.
Polit has served as CIO of Procter & Gamble, and before that, as group CIO for the Bottling Investments Group and Coca-Cola North America at the Coca-Cola Company. He also previously served as vice president of global corporate systems at Office Depot, Inc.
Polit started his own eponymous foundation in 2015. The Javier Polit Foundation has a mission of “raising healthcare awareness, alleviating poverty, supporting education and leveraging technology to improve lives.” He also serves on the board of Girls Who Code, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women in computer science, and is on the board of trustees for Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn.
