The J.M. Smucker Co. has created the position of chief transformation officer and promoted an executive to fill it.
Amy Held, currently Smucker’s chief strategy and international officer, will take on the new role, which “will help establish new ways of working,” according to a company statement. Smucker’s “transformation office” will look at improving efficiency and reducing costs with a team of cross-functional leaders, while establishing measures to track and report these efforts.
Held will continue her responsibilities for strategy while Smucker recruits a replacement for chief strategy officer. The international function of that position will be given to Tim Wayne, who has taken on the expanded role of vice president, international and away from home.
"I am excited to take on this challenge and to have the opportunity to work with an incredible team of leaders," Held said in the statement. "As I assume this new role, I am inspired by our commitment to continuous improvement – of being even better tomorrow than we are
today.”
