New Horizons Baking Co. will shut down a baking facility in Toledo, Ohio, according to a local news report citing a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) sent to the state of Ohio.

The closure will be permanent and results in the layoff of 68 employees as soon as March 17, 2026. New Horizons was founded in 1967, and according to the news report, was scheduled to open a new high-speed bun facility in Columbus, Ohio, early last year. The Toledo plant produces English muffins and sandwich buns, and the company serves more than 2,000 restaurants across the Midwest, the report noted.

Infrastructure limitations did the facility in, and New Horizons said the closure was done to support long-term efficiency and encourage growth by consolidating locations.
