Mondelēz International has hired a law firm to conduct a “racial equity audit” of its business.
WilmerHale LLP, a law firm that specializes in diversity-related corporate audits, has been hired to conduct the review of Mondelēz’s U.S. and Canadian businesses from “a range of stakeholders,” according to a company statement. The audit will examine how Mondelēz is meeting its DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) goals, looking at marketing strategies, political contributions, and environmental and sustainability programs. Mondelēz will publish the results of the audit when it is completed; the statement did not give a timeframe.
“As the global snacking leader, Mondelēz International is committed to measuring and assessing our ongoing DEI efforts to ensure credible progression towards our long-standing commitments,” said Paulette Alviti, Mondelēz’s executive vice president and chief people officer. “Our focus on DEI drives innovation, growth and is important to our colleagues and all our stakeholders.”
