Mars Food & Nutrition announced it has named Karina Zimerfeld as Global R&D Vice President. The business, which is headquartered in London and employs 2,000 people across 30 countries, is a segment of Mars, Inc. and is responsible for brands such as Ben's Original, Seeds of Change, and Dolmio.
In her role Zimerfeld will lead R&D for Mars Food & Nutrition, overseeing R&D innovation, quality and food safety, science & technology, and scientific & regulatory affairs.
Zimerfeld, who will report to Shaid Shah, President Mars Food & Nutrition, will serve as a member of the Global Food & Nutrition Leadership Team, and the Mars, Incorporated, Global R&D Leadership Team. She joins Mars after a 25-year career with Unilever, where she was Global Vice President R&D for Unilever's foodservice business.
