Food safety solutions and sanitation provider Packers Sanitation Services Inc. (PSSI) has named Tim Mulhere, a former Ecolab executive, as the company’s CEO, to replace retiring CEO Dan Taft effective April 24. Mulhere joins PSSI after spending more than 20 years in various executive leadership positions at Ecolab, most recently serving as president of its Global Institutional and Specialty Group.
In addition, PSSI launched a charitable fund with an initial $10 million commitment, dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children in communities PSSI serves. The fund will fight the rising problem of unauthorized underage workers amid record levels of unaccompanied minors entering the U.S., the company’s news release states, providing direct assistance for legal aid, education, poverty reduction and health services.
Finally, the release detailed PSSI’s efforts to learn and rebound from the settlement with the Department of Labor (DOL) regarding the hiring of unauthorized minor workers and shared a link that details remediation measures being taken to address the situation in the local communities in which PSSI operates.
