Fran Malecha will take over as president/CEO of Amalgamated Sugar Co. on July 31, replacing the retiring John McCreedy. Malecha's career includes executive positions at Compass Minerals International and Viterra.
McCreedy joined the company in 2004 and served in various roles before being promoted to president/CEO in 2015. Under his leadership, the company built an industry-leading safety program, completed numerous foundational and strategic initiatives, and significantly increased financial returns to its shareholders.
Amalgamated Sugar, based in Boise, Idaho, is a farmer-owned cooperative processing sugar beets in plants in Nampa, Twin Falls, and Paul, Idaho. In addition to industrial sugar, it markets table sugar under the brand White Satin.
