President & CEO of Canadian Pork Processor HyLife Announces Retirement

Current chief strategic officer Karan Sangfai will take the reins of the company from Grant Lazaruk, who led the company for more than a decade.

Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada-based pork processor Hylife has announced that president and CEO Grant Lazaruk will retire Feb. 29, 2024. Lazaruk joined the company in 1997 and became CEO in 2010, leading the company through both prosperous and challenging times.

Lazaruk said in the company’s release that he felt the timing was right, and he planned to focus on community-minded initiatives in Manitoba, giving back where he can to support his neighbors, while spending more time with his family and grandchildren.

HyLife also announced that Karan Sangfai, the company’s current chief strategic officer, would officially take over the president and CEO title on March 1. Sangfai joined HyLife in 2022, and the company expects his leadership to help HyLife reach new heights in the future.
