Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based sports energy and performance foods company Honey Stinger has announced that John D’Alessandro will be its new chief executive officer.
D’Alessandro joins Honey Stinger with more than 20 years of CPG experience driving growth, innovation and profitability, according to a release announcing his appointment by Honey Stinger. He most recently served as chief marketing officer with Humm Kombucha, where he spent three years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Honey Stinger said in the release that D’Alessandro’s strategic vision and expertise, combined with a passion for sports, aligns with Honey Stinger’s mission to provide high-quality, great-tasting sports nutrition for athletes and active individuals.
D'Alessandro expects to help expand the brand to new audiences and offer new products to benefit its active consumers. Currently, Honey Stinger works with more than 1,500 professional and college athletic teams in addition to its business selling to active individuals and athletes. Honey Stinger’s product line includes waffles, bars, chews, gels and hydration powders, which focus on preparation, performance and recovery for the athletes that consumer Honey Stinger products.
