Simply Good Foods Names New Chief Customer Officer
Simply Good Foods Co., which manufactures protein bars, ready-to-drink (RTD) shakes, sweet and salty snacks, and confectionery products marketed under the Atkins, Quest, and OWYN (Only What You Need) brands, has announced Mike Clawson will become its chief customer officer effective Oct. 14, 2024.
Clawson is expected to help the company on an enhanced selling model and approach as part of its strategic growth plan, focused on developing multi-year growth plans with key customers. The goal will be to increase shelf space, leverage strategic consumer and category insights as well as advanced analytics, drive innovation in key growth areas, and drive omni-channel growth.
Clawson brings 25 years of experience to the role and will report directly to Geoff Tanner, president and CEO. He will lead the sales organization and partner closely with general managers of the three brands to execute the above plan.
Most recently, he served as general manager of Del Monte Foods Inc.’s Meals business unit, and prior to that led sales the U.S. retail business there. Clawson also led Walmart’s sales customer team and international business.
Current Simply Good Foods CCO Jill Short will depart the company after 17 years, although she will stay on board for a brief period to assist during the transition. Simply Good Foods added the OWYN brand in May 2024.
