Nestlé USA Appoints New CEO, U.S. Market Head

Martin Thompson is elevated from president of Nestlé Coffee Partners to take the reins of the entire U.S. business unit, effective January 1.

Nestlé USA has appointed Martin Thompson to be its chief executive officer and U.S. market head, effective Jan. 1, 2025. He will join the Zone Americas Leadership Team and report to Steve Presley, Nestlé CEO Zone Americas.

Thompson has been with Nestlé since 2018, joining the company with the acquisition of Starbucks’ consumer packaged goods and foodservice products business. In 2020, he became president of Nestlé Coffee Partners, leading brands such as Nescafé, Starbucks at Home and Seattle's Best. The division delivered consecutive years of profitable growth and market share gains, the release from Nestlé USA noted.

Prior to joining Nestlé, Thompson was CEO of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Co., and he previously held leadership roles at The Clorox Co. and Procter & Gamble. He brings more than 35 years of CPG industry experience to his new role.
