The Food Production Solutions Assn. (FPSA) named Chris Lyons its president/CEO. He replaces Matthew Ott, who was hired in April of last year. Ott himself replaced longtime CEO David Seckman, who moved into a role leading the association’s Food Industry Technician (FIT) training program -- although we're not sure Seckman's still there. We asked but no reply.
For the past 3.5 years, Lyons was director of enterprise optimization at Dynamic Integrated Services, a consulting firm, and before that he was president of The Fairhaven Group, another consultancy. Earlier in his career, he was CEO of Society for Technical Communication and COO of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
“This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time as FPSA expands its membership to include food producers alongside original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and industry associates,” the association said.
Indeed, it has been a transformational time, as FPSA last year kept its acronym but changed its name from Food Processing Suppliers Assn. Its longtime biennial trade show, Process Expo, was renamed EATS, The Equipment And Technology Show, after its previous (2023) event. EATS will be staged this Oct. 28-30 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
