March 12, 2025
His founding partner Hilton Schlosberg will serve as the sole CEO. Sacks, 75, will continue as chairman.

Rodney Sacks, co-CEO, chairman and one of the founders of Monster Beverage Corp., announced he will retire from the company on June 12. His founding partner Hilton Schlosberg will serve as the company’s sole CEO after that. The 75-year-old Sacks will continue to serve as chairman.

In 1990, Sacks and Schlosberg, both South Africans, acquired Hansen Natural Corp., a U.S. maker of sodas and juices. Through a series of acquisitions and product development, they changed the company focus and its name to Monster Beverage in 2012.

Monster is now a $7.5 billion operation, although it does not manufacture or bottle/can any of its products; all are done by co-packers.
