Dutch cultivated meat company Meatable has added two new leaders to its international team, aiming to bolster its position and strategy to ally with the global meat industry and push collaboration with traditional meat producers to feed the world’s growing population. Both hires bring past experience in the meat industry to their new roles.

Maiko van der Meer has been named director of Commerce for the company, effective March 1, 2025. He has extensive experience in meat, fish, poultry and plant-based, having previously worked for Tyson Foods, Vion Food Group, MOWI and 2 Sisters Food Group.

In addition, Meatable has appointed Eugene Leong to be the new head of Asia for the company, a role in which he will help expand the company’s footprint in the fast-growing Asian market. Leong most recently worked for McCormick and Cargill, and has more than 25 years of experience in flavors and food ingredients. He will be based in Singapore and will officially join the Meatable team effective May 5, 2025.
