The J.M. Smucker Co. has promoted John Brase to be president and chief operating officer, effective Apr. 30, 2025, according to a release from the company. He has served as chief operating officer since 2020.
Brase will continue to oversee the U.S. Retail Coffee, U.S. Retail Frozen Handheld and Spreads, U.S. Retail Pet Foods and Sweet Baked Snacks segments, and its International and Away from Home businesses, as well as the Company's Sales, Operations and Supply Chain functions.
Brase’s support in growing and delivering the business will expand, as will his participation in certain external engagements and industry associations, the company noted. He will continue to report to Mark Smucker, chair of the board and chief executive officer.
Brase joined the company as COO in 2020, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in consumer goods focused on brand management, business operations, manufacturing, marketing and sales. The company noted he has been integral to sharpening the strategic and operational execution of the organization and its portfolio, and he played a leading role in the transformation office of the company, which generated significant cost savings and productivity improvements.
