Shane Grant, who departs Danone SA as a group deputy CEO, has emerged as chief operating officer-Americas of Colgate-Palmolive Co.
Grant was one of several Colgate executive leadership appointments that will take effect June 16. His is a newly created role of overseeing the North America and Latin America regions of the consumer products company, which makes Hill’s pet food products.
Grant had been with Danone since 2020, when he was named CEO of Danone North America. His Danone titles included CEO-Americas and executive vice president of dairy, plant-based and global sales, as well as being a member of Danone’s executive committee. He’s a native of New Zealand but has resided in North America since 2005.
He came to Danone after almost 20 years at Coca-Cola Co., most recently as president of the still beverages business unit (water, sports, tea and coffee) for Coca-Cola North America. He earlier was senior vice president of Glacéau and president of Coca-Cola Canada.
The other Colgate appointments:
Panagiotis (Panos) Tsourapas, a Colgate veteran, was named chief operating officer-Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa Eurasia, Skin Health & Global Customer Development.
John Hazlin, currently president of Hill's Pet Nutrition business, becomes company-wide chief growth officer. He will continue to lead Hill’s until his successor is named.
Stanley Sutula III, chief financial officer, will now have additional responsibility for the strategic oversight of Global Information Technology and Mergers & Acquisitions.
Prabha Parameswaran, who had been group president-growth and strategy, will serve as vice chair until her planned retirement on Oct. 1.
They all report to Noel Wallace, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
