Cacique Foods, producer of Hispanic cheeses, creams, yogurts, chorizos and salsas in the United States, has named Pedro Silveira to be its new CEO, according to a release shared by the company.
Silveira brings three decades of experience in CPG to the role, and he will be expected to help the company continue accelerating its growth strategy, expand distribution and invest in its people and infrastructure. He takes the reins from Gil de Cardenas, who had been CEO since 2009 and will move to the role of non-executive chairman of the board.
Most recently, Silveira was president of North America Ventures at Mondelēz International. In that role, he led the growth of the Tate’s Bake Shop, Perfect Snacks, Hu Chocolates and Enjoy Life brands. Prior to that, he had served as president of Danone’s U.S. yogurt business, as well as president of Danone Canada.
