Diageo and its CEO and board director, Debra Crew, have mutually agreed to part ways, and she has stepped down from her position with the company effective immediately, according to a release posted by the company July 16, 2025.
Crew has been CEO of Diageo since June 2023; she joined the company as a non-executive director in 2019, and served as president of Diageo North America and group chief operating officer in between those roles.
Diageo’s board has begun a formal search for Crew’s successor, and the company said it will consider both internal and external candidates. In the interim, Nik Jhangiani, chief financial officer, will assume the CEO role.
The company noted that the change to leadership does not change its guidance for fiscal 2025 or 2026.
