According to a Facebook post by the company, hog producer Iowa Select Farms has hired recently dismissed Tyson Foods exec Brady Stewart to be its chief strategy officer. Stewart was ousted from his role as group president of Prepared Foods, Beef & Pork and chief supply chain officer a little more than a week ago, after the company claimed that certain undisclosed actions he’d taken had violated the Tyson Foods Code of Conduct.

At Iowa Select, Stewart is expected to advance business initiatives, and lead value development, risk management and packer relations. Iowa Select says on its web site that it is the largest family-owned pork production company in the U.S., marketing more than 5 million hogs per year, raised on 800 farms across Iowa.

Stewart is an Iowa native, the company noted, and he served as chief operating officer at Smithfield Foods prior to his time with Tyson Foods. He also spent time as executive vice president of Smithfield Hog Production.

Stewart takes the reins from Todd Neff, who is planning to retire and will help transition the role to Stewart. Neff joined Iowa Select in 2023 after a long career with Tyson Foods.
