Mark Smucker of Named Chair of Consumer Brands Board

The CEO and chairman of J.M. Smucker Co. has been on the Consumer Brands board since 2016; he succeeds Linda Rendle, chair and CEO of Clorox Co.

Mark Smucker, CEO and chairman of J.M. Smucker Co., will serve as chair of the Consumer Brands Assn. board of directors beginning Jan. 1.

Smucker has served on the Consumer Brands board since 2016, and as vice chair since 2024. He will succeed Linda Rendle, chair and CEO of Clorox Co., who will serve as vice chair of the board.

2016 also was the year Smucker was named CEO of the company that bears his family name. He’s the fifth-generation member of his family to lead the company. Before being named CEO, he held leadership roles across the company’s major businesses, including serving as president of two of its largest divisions, Consumer & Natural Foods and Coffee.

Consumer Brands is the main voice and lobbying force for the consumer packaged goods industry, representing not just the manufacturers of food & beverage products but also household and personal care items.
