Oct. 21, 2025

The Boston Beer Co. has made two changes to its leadership, announcing that chief supply chain officer (CSCO) Phil Hodges will be the new chief operating officer for the company, and Phil Savastano will be promoted to replace Hodges as chief supply chain officer. The moves are effective immediately, the company said.

Hodges will oversee day-to-day operations across all functions in the new role, and he will report to company founder, brewer, CEO and chair Jim Koch. Hodges served as CSCO since May 2023, and he brings more than 30 years CPG experience to the position. He had been CSCO of Carlsberg, CFO of Kraft Foods International and general manager of Mondelez in Southeast Asia prior to joining Boston Beer Co.

Savastano will oversee brewery management, procurement, customer service, engineering, safety, quality and planning, and he will report to Hodges. Savastano joined Boston Beer in March 2024 and has led operations at the Samuel Adams Pennsylvania Brewery. Prior to that, he had worked for Tesla and Molson Coors in his career.
