Grupo Bimbo Promotes Alejandro Rodriguez Bas to CEO

The president of Bimbo’s snack business replaces Rafael Pamias Romero, who resigned for personal and health reasons.

Grupo Bimbo, the Mexican parent of Bimbo Bakeries USA, last week promoted Alejandro Rodriguez Bas to CEO as recent chief executive Rafael Pamias Romero resigned for personal and health reasons.

Rodriguez Bas joined Grupo Bimbo in 2021, most recently serving as president of Barcel Global, Bimbo’s salty snack busiess; he’s also a member of the executive committee. He holds a degree in electromechanical and industrial engineering from Universidad Panamericana and an MBA from Harvard.

Rodriguez Bas’ career includes 10 years at PepsiCo, where he was CEO for the Australia and New Zealand region, among other markets. He later served as CEO of Grupo Lala in Mexico, vice president at C&S Wholesale Grocers and CEO of Acosta Sales and Marketing in the U.S.

Daniel Servitje, executive chair of Grupo Bimbo, thanked Pamias Romero “for his commitment, dedication and hard work over these eight years, and especially during the last year and a half as CEO.”
