Mark Anthony Brands named only its second CEO in its 53-year history, with vice chairman Phil Rosse taking over Jan. 1 for founder and chairman Anthony von Mandl, according to a Chicago news outlet.

Mark Anthony Brands largely created the hard seltzer category with its White Claw brand. Under Von Mandl’s leadership, the company evolved from a wine distributor to a maker of ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages. Its brands include Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cayman Jack cocktails and Mas+ by Messi.

According to Rosse’s LinkedIn page, he’s been with Mark Anthony since 2008, quickly ascending the ranks to become president in 2013 and vice chairman last year. Before Mark Anthony he was at Labatt Breweries for 11 years.
