PepsiCo introduced biodegradable packaging, made with polylactic acid, a plant-based material, for its SunChips brand in April 2009 and created quite a buzz. But consumers, unpredictable as they are, didn't love saving the planet as much as they complained about the noise made by the new packaging.Back to the drawing board, Pepsi has figured out that adding a rubbery adhesive between the two layers may act as a sound barrier and solve the noise problem, reports Food Business News. The redesigned, biodegradable packaging will arrive during the next few months. Shhhh!
